Trump – the Sequel
Now that Trump looks certain to be the next President of the USA- an excellent update has been broadcast in early March by the UK BBC as part of the Panorama series – always worth watching.
Titled ‘Trump – The Sequel’ it will remain available on iBBC for the rest of this year – I highly recommend it, as it is probably more informative than another post from me.
In fact, to be honest – I have had enough of Trump – for now, anyway!
He has stopped being interesting or surprising and he was never very amusing.
I still believe he will be a very dangerous man back in the Whitehouse – and given a second go, will make him even more out of control than his first term.
I have little doubt, that he will look for, what he calls, ‘retribution’ – against his ‘enemies’ –
Which include-most of the judiciary i.e. all courts, judges, most Attorney Generals and Prosecutors along with major government agencies like the F.B.I, C.I.A and the Revenue.
He and his Republican allies have already drafted legislation to give him the individual power to hire and fire members of all of those organisations without independent vetting.
The prospect of a serving President ‘taking on’ these institutions – sacking anybody he already has a grudge against and/or just don’t agree with him – and replacing them with his ‘allies and acolytes is bad enough – until you consider that a powerful arm of government like, the F.B.I. – will not just lie down and take it – and it could get worse …….
According to the National Security Act of 1947, the President is the ‘Commander in Chief’ of all the armed forces of the United States, including the Air Force and Space Force.
Imagine – If Trump doesn’t get his way – he could turn the whole military against the ‘Public Services – and maybe more i.e. the public who don’t vote for him.
Now, that’s what you call ‘civil war.’
Right – despite good intentions – I did ramble on.
