The Trump Roadshow is back on the Road

Following a period when Trump was almost invisible in the media – mainly because he was in court for almost, the whole of his three months+ civil trial – in New York – charged with fraud based on his years of overvaluing his assets – in order to benefit from reduced loan interest and insurance premiums.
He has, however, continued to generate coverage in the press and on TV – not least, based on some of his outbursts in the court case and his continued flood of social media posts,, for which he received severe warnings from the Judge and eventually, two fines, totalling $15,000 for ignoring the judge’s ‘gagging orders’.
From my point of view – ‘he just keeps on giving.’
That New York Trial has just ended, and we are now awaiting the Judge’s verdict. This being a civil trial with no jury.
he Judge, has, in fact, already found Trump guilty, based on the documentary evidence in the original indictment.
this means that his verdict – promised, by the end of January – is entirely focused on the penalties which trump will face. The New York Attorney General, Letitia James, who brought the initial charges – is asking for a $370 m. fine and the cancellation of the Trump Organisation’s licenses to do business in the district of New York.
The latter meaning, Trump would have to move his real estate business out of New York and sell all owned property – a catastrophe for what he considers -‘the Family Business’
While we and the media wait for the verdict – it just so happens that the campaigns for the main parties’ candidates for the next Presidential Election on the 5th. November – actually begin – today – 15th. January with the first state caucus – in Iowa – designed to identify the candidates for President to be put up by the Republican Party.
So – Trump ‘smashed it ‘- with an historically high share of the vote – and with a strong lead in the polls for the single Republican candidature,
He is – ‘back on the road’.
In a number of earlier posts, I have referred to my fascination with the Trump character/ psychology and my intention to not explore, the legal details of his indictments and trials and I would just look to give an overview – based mostly on what Trump says and does – and identify the milestones – rather than any technical detail -and that’s what I think, I’m doing now – particularly as we have reached a watershed in the trump life story,
In less than a year – he could be in a jail cell – or / and? President of the USA
If he is President – as now looks likely – I genuinely fear for the world outside of America.
Not very magnanimous, I know – but I’m not interested in domestic changes in America – whilst accepting that – as one of the UK’s major allies and trading partners – we might feel the ripples on this side of the Atlantic.
But if enough insular Americans vote him in with a majority then they’ve made their bed and can lie on it.
Which, actually – based on Trump’s ethos – ‘America First’ – might not be so uncomfortable.
we should also worry about his history and ‘track record’ in power – and the fact that his abusive personal diatribes against Judges and Attorney Generals in open courts – show that he is already out of control – with minimal personal restrictions and no sign of any normal human moral compass.
I think that – in the UK – he could have been ‘Sectioned’, by now.
All of which will get worse if he gets the Presidential power that he plans:
He has already threatened -in his words – ‘retribution’ against, all his ‘enemies’.
Which means anybody who doesn’t agree with him – but also doesn’t show deep respect for him – and is therefore a large number.
Other recent posts have already highlighted – his plans to:
- Bomb Mexico – to destroy the drug cartels and stop illegal immigration – all without the agreement of the Mexican government technically a ‘war crime’.
- Take Presidential control of all appointees and dismissals within the whole of the US Public Services such as the Judiciary – including the – Department of Justice, CIA and FBI – and ironically the Revenue Department (him being an expert on tax!) and, of course, the whole legislature – a long list – most of which are already on his list of enemies!
- He and his allies have made it clear that the current agencies are ‘Too Liberal’ and need to be moved to the right i.e. more Conservative.
Which translates to – new appointees and current staff redundancies will be based on political leanings and loyalty to Trump – and not on merit.
And he is quoted as saying, that he thinks –
- ‘Putin is a cool guy’.
- – and has received and accepted 7+ $millions – as funding for his election campaign and much of it from foreign governments – particularly – China – who actually want him in power.
Maybe I’m just a cynic – but that just tells me – that they already have enough dirt on him to ensure his cooperation.
The thought of Trump doing deals, with Russia – China – Iran (or maybe invading it) and other parts of the Islamic world etc. etc, – deals which will suit him (he always comes first) and then America – and the global consequences start to look frightening.
