Trump Fraud Case – Day Two
Trump Ordered Not to Comment on Judge’s Staff in New York.
My previous post – covering day one of the current case against Trump – which could, realistically, result in a total ban on the Trump Organisation doing business in New York – plus large financial penalties –
Had a sub-title – ‘Trump is Thick’.
Knowing that this civil court has no jury and the Judge has sole responsibility for a verdict and – has already ruled that the allegations of fraud are proven, and the purpose of this hearing is to establish the nature of the punishment-
On Day 1 – he launched into a verbal personal attack on both the Judge and the Prosecuting Attorney General.
That is not just thick – it’s bloody stupid!
I struggle to describe what he then did on day 2 – insane – maybe suicidal?
He attacked Justice Arthur Engoron’s clerk in a social media post that soon disappeared. He was called to account behind closed doors, then chastised in court as the judge issued a limited “gag order
Trump went after the clerk, Allison Greenfield, shortly before noon on his Truth Social site. His post was a picture of Ms. Greenfield with Senator Chuck Schumer, the Democratic majority leader. Mr. Trump mocked Ms. Greenfield as “Schumer’s girlfriend” and said that the case against him should be dismissed.
The post was taken down during a lunch break, shortly after the closed-door meeting between the parties in the room where Mr. Trump is being tried – where, no doubt, the judge’s views were clearly expressed.
After the break, Judge Engoron, explained in open court, what had happened, though he did not name Ms. Greenfield or Trump, referring to him only as a defendant.
said – “Personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate and I will not tolerate them under any circumstances.”
He said that ‘his statement should be considered a “gag order” forbidding any posts, emails or public remarks about members of his staff.’
He added that serious sanctions would follow were he to be disobeyed. He did not elaborate, but experts said that if the former President violates the order, the judge could fine him, as much as $1,000 — or even hold him in jail for up to 30 days, though the chances of that happening are thought unlikely.
P.S. He has subsequently been fined anothe $10,000 for not removing another social media post when ordered.
He just, never learns.
Conclusion
I can’t claim to have an explanation of his continuing behaviour.
I have followed this saga from the beginning – and given up – some time ago – attempting to get into his head – even if I could – I don’t want to be there.
But, this current behaviour – in a very specific situation, where a single individual – the Judge – will decide the punishment/s –one of which is to close down his whole business/s in New York – the verdict of guilty, being already established – what he is doing -isn’t just ‘stupid’ – it’s insane.
The closest I can get:
Is with the help of a Dr, of Clinical Psychology who also happens to be Trump’s younger niece – Mary L. Trump – who published a best-selling book in America in 2021 (sold nearly one million copies on the day of its release)
called – ‘Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s most Dangerous Man; – not a lot of love lost there.
Covered in a previous post in August – if you missed it –

Or – the relevant bit – I think – is quoted from the book:
“He exhibits all the characteristics of a narcissist. But this is far beyond garden-variety narcissism.
Donald is not simply weak; his ego is a fragile thing that must be bolstered every moment because he knows deep down that he is nothing of what he claims to be.”
She says, he was influenced by watching his father, Fred Trump Sr, bully her father Freddy – that Trump Sr was extremely harsh to her father – his eldest son, whom he wanted to take over the family real estate business. But as Ms Trump’s father drifted away from the business, Trump Sr had no choice but to turn to his second son, Donald.
It was not a happy choice; Ms Trump claims. “When things turned south in the late 1980s, Fred could no longer separate himself from his son’s brutal ineptitude; the father had no choice but to stay invested,” she writes of the senior Trump’s bullying and abrasive attitude towards Donald – the future President of the USA.
The White House rejected the claim that Mr Trump’s father had been abrasive and harsh, saying that the president ‘describes the relationship he had with his father as warm and said his father was very good to him’.
In the book -she writes – “When Trump senior died – his monster had been freed.”
There are many examples of how Trump always reacts to, what he perceives to be, criticism or an attack.
In fact, Mary is an example – he immediately took legal action to stop her books publication – which failed.
But he bears grudges for a long time:
When Mary claimed that the 1991 will of Trump Sr. – was “procured by fraud and undue influence” -on the part of Donald Trump and his siblings, and that her aunt and uncles “should be ashamed of themselves Taking advantages of Trump Senior, who the suffered from dementia, – in the legal battle which followed she said –
“Given this family, it would be utterly naive to say it has nothing to do with money,”
She and her brother filed another, unsuccessful, lawsuit – after their medical insurance provided by the Trump company was cancelled without notice – in apparent retaliation for their first legal action.
As I said – ‘no love lost.’
